Vintage Japanese Sarasa calico cotton Boro textile
This textile patchedsolid and  beautiful faded calico textile is called Wasarasa(Japanese calico).
 
Production of Japanese sarasa (calico) began in the Edo period when skillful Japanese dye workers found a method to inspire the designs of Indian calicos. 
 
4 pieces of weaving length are carefully sewn together by hand stitching. Some places were repaired by hand Sashiko stitching in old-times.
