This textile is made of two lengths of indigo-dyed cotton fabric. Mainly used plaid ikat hand-weaved textiles called Kasuri.
Kasuri (絣) is a traditional Japanese fabric dyeing technique where threads are resist-dyed before weaving, creating patterns with a characteristic blurred effect. The patterns can be geometric or pictorial, and the process involves dyeing either the warp, weft, or both sets of threads.
All hand sewing and holes are repaired by sashiko stitching. They repeated washing and mending to become very soft.
