This textile was made of 4-length hand-woven hemp and fibers. It has a thick and rough texture. It was perhaps made in northern-west Japan about over 100 years ago.
This one was probably dyed with bengala and persimmon. The used and faded reddish-brown color is gorgeous.
This textile was probably used to wrap something. Some kanji characters are the family crests of the families that used them.
