This is a hand-woven silk length dyed with safflower and indigo.
It is assumed that it was originally a sleeve part of a kimono. The main textile is hand-spun and the hand-woven was dyed with safflower, The blue part was dyed with indigo.
They are joined together by hand embroidery called Sashiko.
It is a very soft and thin material, so it is stunning when hung near a window.
